im throwing a “jack and jill” for my sister and her soon to be husband and want some advice.we are doin a simple BBQ and not really looking to raise money but more so to let the close family and friends to get together and get more acquainted.i would like to know more about games that I could do and “cute” things I can do…..she is my baby sister and want to make things special for her.our idea of fun is quite different…she is more glam and im a simple girl…im going to do my best to make her day special..please help….thanks! Hi Ashley, I think it depends on the type of party. If it is a fundraiser, the guest of honor does not usually expect a gift as well. Jack and Jill bachelor parties often do not involve gifts and Jack and Jill showers may not either -particularly if they involve an excursion. If you’re not sure, ask the person organizing the event.

Hi Rolanda, thanks for stopping by! That is an interesting question – I think it probably depends on the individual person? Some women might prefer to be surprised, others want to participate (since they will be wearing the ring every day). What about you, would you rather pick out the ring or be surprised?

I like the information about who is picking out the engagement rings. 20 women is a small sample, I would be curious to know if the percentage of women who choose their own or help out in the process is more now.
