Getting Married? Need Engagement Advice? Listen up.
The most basic definition of a wedding band is that it’s a symbol of marriage. It tells the world that you have made some kind of commitment to someone else during some sort of wedding ceremony. After that, the wedding band’s meaning becomes very personal. It symbolizes different things to different people.
Erma Bombeck, about her wedding ring:
“For years it has done its job. It has led me not into temptation. It has reminded my husband numerous times at parties that it’s time to go home. It has been a source of relief to a dinner companion.”
I just asked my husband and he said that wedding bands are a bond between a couple – the rings that tie us together. I think that’s pretty nice.
I used to travel for work a lot and my ring always comforted me when I was homesick. I remember waiting around in various airports turning the ring on my finger and thinking about him.
